NYU Stern is the first top-tier business school to not only have a dedicated luxury specialization, but also a full-time MBA program devoted to this field. Club leaders have collaborated with faculty and industry executives to develop an interdisciplinary curriculum driven by today's industry leaders. Some of the current courses offered at Stern include Luxury Marketing, Brand Strategy, Retail Strategy, and Innovation & Design.

Faculty Advisor

The NYU Stern Community is fortunate to have Thomaï Serdari, Adjunct Professor of Luxury Marketing, serving as advisor to the Luxury & Retail Club. She provides guidance in growing the impact of the club and generously donates her time by acting as a mentor to Club members and by participating in Club panel presentations.

Luxury Marketing | The course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of luxury.

Doing Business in Italy (Luxury Retail & Branding) | The “Doing Business in...” (DBi) Program provides students with the opportunity to gain international experience in a rapidly expanding global economy. Doing Business in Italy, which takes place in Milan, provides students with exposure to the high fashion and luxury industry in one of the fashion capitals of Europe.  

Next Gen Fashion | The fashion industry will undergo more changes in the next 10 years than it has in the past 100 as technology disrupts every aspect of the business. The course is an opportunity to marry the theory and process learned in the core classes, with the reality of running real businesses in a very creative and dynamic industry.

Retail Strategy | The course examines how retailers understand their customers' preferences and respond with appropriate products through effective supply chain management. This course will arm students with an understanding of the tools and approaches for evaluating and formulating successful business strategies for retailers.

Retail Strategy & Analytics | This course will provide students with a solid understanding of the retail landscape, covering all key classes of trade. That understanding of the key retail channels will be integrated with an in-depth review of effective marketing strategies for each channel.

Fashion & Luxury Digital Solutions | The Stern Solutions course provides students with the opportunity to work on current projects with executives, designers, manufacturers, and commerce specialists from leading fashion and luxury companies. Both established players and newer enterprises will be represented, focusing on specific challenges they face in marketing, operations, finance, product development, manufacturing and management.

Marketing, Planning & Strategy | This course aims to consolidate your learning from other Stern MBA courses to develop that material into a cohesive and actionable Business / Marketing Plan and get the plan approved in the Boardroom.

Brand Strategy | This course analyzes strategies used by branding professionals, such as managers, strategists, and consultants, to create, revitalize, and lead brands in a variety of industries.

Innovation & Design | Innovation and design have been central to the success of leading companies, like Apple and Google. The interactive course leads business students through the processes of design thinking to form disruptive solutions to everyday problems.

Retail Operations & Supply Chain Management | The objective of this course is to introduce you to the key concepts and techniques that will allow you to analyze, manage and improve supply chain processes for different industries and markets, with a special focus on the fashion and apparel industry.

Fashion Law & Business | Fashion law is the emerging business law specialty that provides legal counsel to fashion executives and entrepreneurs as they make strategic decisions and confront problems in design manufacturing distribution and retail.
